Speaking of games!....This is a potentially serious issue! What they're doing is resorting to intentionally debilitating the app/website at certain times, so that you can't place an online order and use any of the offers! I can't attest to this occurring nationally, but there have been several complaints here on SD about the app/website being dysfunctional (or not functional) at times. I'm in the NYC area, and this seems to occur frequently in the early evening (peak time for ordering)! The offers disappear completely, and there's a message stating that online ordering isn't working! It's become routine (at least in my area), and I've confirmed it with several others at the restaurant (who are encountering the same problem). You can reinstall the app to no avail (I've tried it numerous times). When you attempt to use it again, you'll get another error message. You're just wasting your time spinning around in circles! Then, miraculously, an hour or two later, everything goes right back to normal (consistently)! I'm convinced that they're playing games! In a sense, this is actually another version of "surge pricing" (or whatever you choose to call it)! Once you're on the way or at the location, you'll be victimized by their game and be forced to pay full price! Most will be passive and deal with it (and that's exactly what they're depending upon). I'd strongly urge as many of you as possible to go elsewhere if you have a non-functioning app/website! If enough people do this, perhaps they'll stop playing this game. If you call them, they'll (of course) claim that it's a technical glitch, so that's just a waste of time! Perhaps it's only affecting certain areas, but the only way to combat this is to boycott Wendy's when they debilitate the app/website! If this is intentional (and it very likely is), then it's truly underhanded, and they deserve to lose business as a result....lots of business!

i dont think it's intentional, but their server is just absolute unreliable trash. They want everyone using mobile, so they can eliminate the "extra" employee at the register, so when the app is down, they are losing orders.

As for the offers, if you load your offer into your account beforehand, there's a good chance it will be available for purchase at the register, even if mobile ordering is down.

This $1, $2 deal is supposed to refresh every week until 4/10. Just hope that the app/website happens to work for you at the time you choose to use these offers (see my other message above).

Ordering thru the app is the fastest. If using computer, you have to do extra step of clicking on the email to start the order. I have the hardest time using offers in restaurants because their system doesn't recognize the offer even after it is scanned at a few locations.

From now on, I only use the app to order to avoid the hassle in store.

Also about the glitches someone pointed out. I have to log back in several times to the app. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes you have to wait. I think they just have a poorly designed app that is not always reliable.

Wendy's meat patties are about twice the size of the ones in the Big Mac that McD have in their deals sometimes so Wendy's burgers are so much better

Wendy's has always been on the pricier side for fast food, so this is actually a really good deal. You'd probably have to go back to the 80s to get a Daves Double for $2.

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt as well....until this nonsense occurred 8-10 times (conservatively) over several weeks, and I confirmed that others were experiencing the same exact problem! I'm unsure if they can limit it to a specific region, but at least here in NYC, it has to be intentional! Especially since it's occurring at peak dinner hours and repeatedly! Tried what you suggested, but when the app/website goes down, all is lost, and it's useless!

I dunno. My last two orders were right at the lunchtime and after-work dinner rush. I don't think there's a conspiracy here.

Wendy's has been right around the same as the other majors. In my area:
* a Big Mac is $6.59 ($12.29 for a combo!!!)
* a Whopper is $7.99 $10.69 small combo)
* a Wendy's single is $6.59 ($11.19 combo)

A Wendy's single is priced just as cheap as a Big Mac, and the combo is a buck cheaper than McD's If you're buying fast food at regular prices, Wendy's is fairly priced, especially as their burger is better quality.

why would you buy at regular prices, though. just get the app. that's where all the deals are. last time i got a big mac combo, it was $5 on the app
