My SD-sourced HF 25' hose was sticky with a very gripy surface, I figured it would eventually 'dry' out. I stuck with it initially because in some SD deal thread people spoke soo highly of their HF hose. That hose transports grit and dirt from the garage to the interior finished house areas. It holds onto everything and is exceedingly tedious to clean off.

Is this dewalt hose line grippy and sticky?

I can't answer you definitively, but my guess would be no.

Regarding your HF hose, you got some bad one or something. I've been using the same HF hose for 15-20 years and it's never been sticky.
In fact, I'm here checking the deal out wondering if I need to "upgrade" my hose at all since it's still working well (other than a little memory from some bad winds)

I highly recommend a polyethylene hose. Nothing sticks to it and doesn't get tangled. I've been using this one 11 years now and still looks brand new.

Poly hose is probably what you want for that, but they do tend to be less durable overall.. tradeoffs. I've got a cheap coiling poly air hose that's lasted surprisingly long (5+ years now) though. I always make sure to pop it off the compressor when done - keeping air lines like these pressurized all the time will shorten their lifespan.

What is the benefit of dual arm? I see there's an arm on each side. Just better stability and stronger?

Geometry of how the hose comes off and goes back on. It allows the hose to be guided off and on the spool more evenly without it being overly tight at any spot on the spool itself.

Poly hoses are very prone to tangling and not laying down flat. If these dewalt hybrid hoses are the rubber/neoprene hoses, they should be considerably nicer to work with than the poly hoses. Tend to stay very flexible, lay flatter, and more durable than poly.

I agree on that if you are tugging and getting it all kinked up. I've never had an issue and I like it a lot more for working with air nailers, especially finish nailing, since it is so much lighter.

I'm in the DIY/home improvement category and not lugging it around to construction sites and the hose doesn't get stepped on.

In my garage where a hose might get stepped on, run over by a bike or car, etc, I use the rubber hoses. For inside the house, the poly hose is great.

I have owned a finish carpentry business for almost 20 years, and with more than 30 years as a residential carpenter, I have used my share of hoses. The neoprene style hybrids are hard to beat inside a home, IMHO. Think flexilla style hoses.

I got sick of tripping over the poly hoses all the time so had to find something else. Even after stretching them out and "cracking" the cords inside the hose, they still have too much of a memory. The heavier 3/8"+ poly hoses are heavy enough to lay flatter, but get annoying to use because of their size when trimming.

But each to their own, just what I have found works best for me,

Any body know if the hose could be replaced with a pressure washer hose?

Heck no, pressure washers run 1000-3k+ psi. No air hose is rated (or made for water). Considering I never heard of this before I can't tell you the results but best to stick with right tool for the right job...

I believe he was asking if he could use one of the hose reels with a pressure washer hose. By removing the air hose.

I got one of these to extend my 50' no name brand 20 year old vinyl hose so I could reach from the garage any room in the house. But it's garbage, lasted less than a year before it blew. I cut it shorter and blew again about a month later. After the third time, it went in the garbage. By then I was done with all the projects I needed it for.

Many reviews out there of the same issue.
