I am not sure why this was marked expired right after I posted it. I am still able to add item to cart, apply coupon code AK10, and price still shows correct. Did I do something wrong?

Does this require an electrician to install? I have solar panels but no battery. Is this plug and play to store and use power at night? Would it work out of the box to power a fridge and AC unit when the grid is down? I am not getting how it connects to the home power network.

If you plug them in directly, no.

If you want to have a sub panel with circuits in your house able to be cut over to this battery - yes.

Thanks. Probably silly questions. What extra components would be needed? Also, have a sense of much install would cost? I know it would depend on the state/city etc. would I be able to connect it to a 70amp circuit?

You'd move some circuits from your main breaker panel to an adjacent sub-panel - which would then have a transfer switch that'd let you switch those entire circuits between mains power and battery/generator power. Probably $2-3000? (Assuming all other prerequisites are met)

The sub-panel would have a generator socket - which allows you to swap/change/remove this system if you move houses or want to use a gasoline generator or something

What about the solar panels that are currently feeding the grid?

He wants to use them.

I can never tell is these are serious or trolling. I give people the benefit of the doubt - it could add 6-7% to Tesla.

How are people using these? They're sized for whole home back up, but you'd have to integrate it into your current battery back up if you have one, or install a whole set up to use this right? Otherwise, you'd have to charge it during the day and connect things to it at night to use it as a solar backup without professional install? I feel a little silly asking...

Please just get an electrician, you also need to get permits from the county to mess with your houses electrical wiring and permission from the utility, which the electrician will do for you. It looks like this system has a built in inverter and outputs AC so assuming those 240v outputs are the ones that can output 6kw then you just need a transfer switch as they mentioned.

For anyone curious what you'd need generally if you just bought those blocks of iron phosphate batteries (might be cheaper): inverter to convert from dc (battery) to ac (house main line), step up transformer to push it from the normal 24-48v that's coming out of the battery to 240v, transfer switch, plus misc equipment like bus bars, cabling, and some sort of box or stuff to protect it so a random wrench falling into it won't short it and burn down your house, a battery management system (bms) to control the battery output and inputs and if you have solar then a charge controller (and maybe more wiring or inverter depending on if you want it to go solar to battery to house or solar and battery in parallel)

With the Anker (it looks like) they include the battery, bms, inverter, step up transformer so it looks good in terms of price but if anyone has any experience with these then they would know more
