Lifetime is a fine brand. our first hoop was similar to this (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lifeti...8/38473513) and it held up fairly well. Keep in mind while shopping poor reviews on anything this massive are often due to delivery issues.
If you're a homeowner and think you'll get use out of a hoop for the next decade, I'd recommend in-ground, they look and perform so much better. Add an alert on SD for "basketball" and that should catch anything that pops up. We always see good prices on portables, and occasionally in-grounds too.
