If it was me and I had the amex additonal 120 off I would return the legion and get this. If you dont have the offer its kinda a push because you would pay 200 more for a graphics card that is only a 50 dollar difference.

Dell 10% off Welcome Email
Cash Back Site 10% off + $30 off
Finally I didn't have the CC required for $120 off but my CC still had a 5%
Total after all that shiz: $1,263.91
If I had the Amex offer it would have been $1,219.57
I went to PCPARTPICKER and couldn't get this hardware (or similar) for less than $1600! (I'm not even factoring in a windows key)
Thoughts on the rig:
People confirmed that the heating issues with Alienware desktops have been addressed and I read some good reviews on this R16. Also with the PSU I got legroom for a card upgrade EZPZ.
TLDR:
I love a trip to microcenter as much as the next guy but in 2024 it's still cheaper to buy than build a mid range rig….you just gotta know how to work a deal.

From what I can see, AFTER signing up for the email I still get $1599 as the price.
Subtract the 10% offer which does come about 15 minutes after signup and you get down to $1439
Subtract the $5 mouse nobody wants and you get to $1434
Subtract the $120 for American Express and you get $1314
I did test it and it looks like you can use two different cards to buy this, so I could use chase to get another 5% off of the portion that gets paid for by Chase, which would be: $1434-$600 = $714 which would result in another $35.70 discount.
That brings the final total, if you use all of the discounts to $1278.30 if you ignore tax, which is calculated on the $1434 price and is location dependent.
So, can someone explain where the other $145 discount is coming from? Creating a Dell account with the email doesn't drop it further, which was what I assumed might be being said without saying it, but that's not it. Is it SlickDeals cash back using the extension? Just tried that too and it didn't give any additional discount. Enabled Slickdeals cash back and no luck there either. So, can someone show me the way?
