I paid $137+tax for this set last year and thought it was a good deal.

Great deal, thanks OP.

Note: Ship both to store then when picking up just cancel the other item. I just say I had to buy both to get the sale price, and never had an issue. I think at this point they expect people to do this.

Didnt plan on spending $200 before I got out of bed (or even at all today), but between this and the 1/2" set, I don't think I had an option.

Yep. Same here. I bought on hd card so I could return and rebuy but not worth the return / buy / return hassle for $30. But a great deal regardless

I personally use 3/8 for everything. I've never ran into a need to step up to 1/2"

I think the answer is going to depend what kind of work you need to do. 3/8" is the safe bet since it covers most typical use cases... but if you deal with heavy equipment/trucks/trailers, you might benefit from having 1/2".

Don't think full packout 1/2" set is available for hack. Only the 27pc 1/2" half size packout

The 3/8 has wider but lower range, but less bulky, I stick 3/8 bolt biters in the middle compartment with a few extensions and I'm good

What other item do I have to add? I don't see any offers to bring the price down. Obviously I am missing something.

This set comes with a 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch adapter, which is needed if you have the regular impact driver. The 1/2 inch set is just the sockets, so you'd need a half inch tool as well.
