Google Pixel 8 128gb is $399 for existing subscribers if you log in and go to the product page.

Seems to be the cheapest way to get the new Pixel 8 for existing Mint Mobile subscribers that doesn't involve porting to a different provider.

Note that the phone will be locked for 12 months to Mint--although it seems like some folks have had luck with unlocking Mint devices earlier by contacting Mint directly, typically around the 90 day mark. YMMV

No and Tmobile is great in my area and Mint doesn't work at all.
Mint uses T-Mobile's network.....ie they use the same towers/signal.

Exactly which is why i believed them when they said good service in my area. But apparently it's not a guarantee and service is not the same

Are you sure it's actual TMo that's good, or is it roaming on US Cellular. Mint uses TMo, but IIRC doesn't roam on carriers that TMo plans do.

Any insights on how to do this?

This deal would have been fantastic if bundled with 6 months of free phone service.

I got an email from Mint mobile last night, they have many deals on pixels right now but $300 off a Pixel 8 jumped out to me.

$424 after tax for me, unlocked and you don't need to buy any plan or data. just unlock on their service.

I am a current Mint custom, so I anticipate just plugging my SIM card into the new phone. easy peasy. lemon. squeezy.

I don't see anything about the phone being locked on the page, can anyone confirm if this is locked or not?

Not as good as the unlocked Mint Pixel 7 Pro deal from a year ago for around the same price. If this was the 8 Pro, sure.

Same here, I want to be able to use travel e-sim. No point in getting this phone if I will have to carry another one just for data while I'm travelling.
So you can't use a travel eSIM if the phone is locked to Mint? If so then yeah this deal is dead for me.

It's free at xfinity when you open a new additional line. A new additional line is $30/month. I got mine. That was a slick deal.

I switched to mint for the 7 pro deal. I'm in the DC area and frequently have limited internet access due to deprioritizion, which is frustrating. I'll live with it for the next 10 months but will jump ship afterwards.

For people that purchased the Pixel 7 bundle deal (with 12 months Mint service) roughly 12 months ago, isn't this just like $100-150 to upgrade? Assuming you're going to continue using Mint's service.

This deal is just $399 for the Pixel 8 (which is locked to Mint for 12 months). The Pixel 7 (assuming decent condition) that you have will become unlocked, and then can sell for what looks to be $250-300 on any local marketplace or ebay.
I bought the Pixel 7 Pro bundle for my wife and myself. Had a service issue last week and while on chat with customer service, asked them to unlock the phones.
Both are now unlocked and we've only had them for a few months!
Considering selling and getting these now
