Google Pixel 8 128gb is $399 for existing subscribers if you log in and go to the product page.

Seems to be the cheapest way to get the new Pixel 8 for existing Mint Mobile subscribers that doesn't involve porting to a different provider.

Note that the phone will be locked for 12 months to Mint--although it seems like some folks have had luck with unlocking Mint devices earlier by contacting Mint directly, typically around the 90 day mark. YMMV

I hate that Mint only sells the black...
Just get a case of your preferred color. You will use a case, won't you? Also, for the screen protector, I suggest TPU for better conductivity on top of the FP reader.

I bought the Pixel 7 Pro bundle for my wife and myself. Had a service issue last week and while on chat with customer service, asked them to unlock the phones.
Both are now unlocked and we've only had them for a few months!
Considering selling and getting these now
Isn't 7 pro better than 8 in every possible way except for the AI features maybe? AI features will also start coming in for previous gen phones soon.

Don't fall for it. They have all the defective Google phones in their stock. I suffered last time when I got pixel 7 from them. Pay a few hundred dollars more and spare yourself from the pain.
I haven't had any issues with my Pixel 7 that I got from their bundle deal a year ago.

Don't listen to the haters. I've been using the Pixel 8 for a week from this deal and everything is working fine. The original thread has more details.

Can I buy this, leave it in a drawer with my other phone activated on mint and ask for an unlock after the period is done?
Nope, but you can't insert your SIM card. Once active, use it for a year. They you MUST request unlock

No and Tmobile is great in my area and Mint doesn't work at all.

Ditto here and it was unlocked from day one. Bought 3 and 1 is still in box sealed

I switched to mint for the 7 pro deal. I'm in the DC area and frequently have limited internet access due to deprioritizion, which is frustrating. I'll live with it for the next 10 months but will jump ship afterwards.
Same thing I'm seeing. Never had a problem on T-Mobile. I'm also in the DC area (Maryland side) and will randomly lose all 5G or even LTE service. Maybe calls would still go through but data drops to next to nothing. I think it shows as "EV" in the status bar. I'm using a Pixel 8 Pro.

Exactly which is why i believed them when they said good service in my area. But apparently it's not a guarantee and service is not the same
Make sure you phone is provisioned correctly to Mint's network.
Do not use t-mobile for the apn use 'wholesale'.
T-mobile will sort of work and give the false impression the phone is correctly provisioned but the service will be poor.

really, they unlocked your P7Pro that easy or you have to give them a good reason?

Same here, I want to be able to use travel e-sim. No point in getting this phone if I will have to carry another one just for data while I'm travelling.
I called mint before I ordered. They said they will unlock the phone when it arrives(they just need the IMEI number). I already had 12 month plan paid in advance. Will update this to morrow when I get the phone.

For people that purchased the Pixel 7 bundle deal (with 12 months Mint service) roughly 12 months ago, isn't this just like $100-150 to upgrade? Assuming you're going to continue using Mint's service.

This deal is just $399 for the Pixel 8 (which is locked to Mint for 12 months). The Pixel 7 (assuming decent condition) that you have will become unlocked, and then can sell for what looks to be $250-300 on any local marketplace or ebay.
The pixel 7's were not locked.

I currently have Mint and they'd have to pay me to keep their service at this point. My phone says 5g full bars and speeds are horrible, which is weird because week one speeds were insanely fast. Customer service is beyond bad. I think perhaps there's a reason they charge for long periods of service up front instead of month to month. I think many people would ditch it after a month.

I wouldn't recommend buying a phone from Mint Mobile , the return process is hell
