I used the wired version of this mouse for a LONG time. It's by far the best you can get without spending close to a hundred dollars if you don't mind not having fancier extras

Don't like the feel of this keyboard at all. It's cheap feeling. The KW5221W is much better and is still less than $50 for the set. Also the USB receiver on this is fixed to the set so if you lose it, throw the whole set in the trash. The KW5221W comes with a programmable one that, like Logitech, you can program more Dell devices using a single receiver.

Not really, you can download the Dell unifying software and reprogram any logitech or dell receiver to pair it.

We have a bunch of these at my work place and they're not the best. If the receiver is a little bit out of sight, I will not work

Can someone please explain why they don't just use Bluetooth for these? Is there some advantage to their proprietary dongle, or is it just more vendor lock-in?

Have you tried it with this model? I have. It DOES NOT WORK. The software actually sees the keyboard and mouse but refuses to program it saying that it's not compatible. Dell keyboards and mice stopped working with Logitech software years ago so not sure why you say that.

Many computers don't have Bluetooth (or WiFi) like desktops and servers, for instance. Also, a BT keyboard does not work outside of the operating system, so if one needs to do something pre-boot, the BT keyboard is useless.

I don't think it's fair to compare a $40-$50 item to a $17 one - it ought to be much better for 3x the cost. Have you got one in the same price range as this that's better.to recommend?

That makes sense, didn't think about servers. Thx, & repped!

At first I thought it was the one which works with up to three computers. I have that one and I love it. This looks like a solid deal but I need one where I can use it at least two different computers.

Just bought a Bluetooth mouse since I was out of USB ports on my work computer - and didn't want to tie up ANOTHER one with a USB receiver. And all the things I was told about BT mice - that there would be lag, problems, etc - not true! It's great! Makes no sense to need these dum little USB port fillers with the wireless radios already inbuilt.
