PSA: there's a high chance [dynomight.net] that ultrasonic humidifiers create dangerously bad air quality which can negatively affect your health. Other types of humidifiers do not have this issue.

Not that this website should be an empirical source on the matter, since it looks sketchy as hell, but how was your conclusion that "other humidifiers do not have this issue"?

If you scroll down, that website clearly shows that garbage in = garbage out, regardless of the type of humidifier.

If you're introducing particulate matter into the air that isn't designed to be inhaled it always comes with a potential health risk.

It's less about the type of vaporizer than the material going into it.

Compare to CVS at $49.99 and Target at $39.99.

This deal is super slick if you can find it in stock. It's available at my local store. YMMV.

Product description says

Quiet, ultrasonic technology delivers a fine cool mist for maximum relief. May be the coolness comes from Vicks pad

It literally says in the first few sentences, "Steam and evaporative humidifiers don't have the same issue." Ultrasonic humidifiers work differently than others, and they aerosolize whatever's in the water, including bacteria which is almost impossible to get rid of once it's taken hold in a system. Other types such as steam do not--I can attest to this through personal experience, since I live in an area with hard water. When I used an ultrasonic model, there was no mineral residue within the humidifier--it had all gone into the air. When I now use a traditional steam humidifier, I get lots of mineral residue inside the tank.

Thanks. Got one with a $1.00 pack of AAA batteries. Used $20 WG bucks and paid only .51 for both.

No idea why people are downvoting you. Cool mist without pure water is literally air pollution

Does it significantly increase the humidity of the bedroom? I'm running a dehumidifier 24/7 and keeping it under 40%
