Redeeming a GamePass Core code when you already have an active GamePass Ultimate subscription will convert the time on the card into GPU at a rate of 3:1, meaning that a one-year Core code will turn into an extra four months of Ultimate. Redeeming a GamePass Core code without an active GamePass Ultimate subscription, then converting to GamePass Ultimate will give you a better conversion rate of 3:2, meaning that you'll get eight months of Ultimate.

You can have up to 36 months of GamePass Core, or three one-year codes, banked at a time. The browser page to join GamePass Ultimate can be found here [xbox.com]. If this is your first time converting to GPU, the conversion cost is $1, although some returning customers have reported getting the $1 rate as well.

The standard monthly cost of Ultimate is $16.99 plus tax; buying three Core codes from this deal and then converting to Ultimate will give you two years for $147.97, which is a minimum discount of $259.79 or 63% from the monthly rate.
1. Make sure you don't have any game pass ultimate time on your account (either it is expired, or you have never had game pass ultimate before)
2. Buy the (3) 12-month Game Pass Core codes from Newegg
3. Redeem all three codes (you will now have Game Pass Core until 2027)
4. Buy a non-stackable 1-month Game Pass Ultimate code (I used Eneba and it was around $2.50)
5. Redeem the 1-month code and it will convert your 3 years Game Pass Core to 2 years (+ 1 month for the Ultimate code) Game Pass Ultimate
Just to be clear. Do not do this if you already have Ultimate. I misunderstood. I just ended up paying $49 for 4 months of Ultimate (after the conversion), so $12.25/mo, which was a terrible deal for me.

I bought 2 Xbox Series X in the past 3 months. It may be time to finally get Game Pass. This seems like a decent discount.

Core is the basic for online a gaming and you will get a few games monthly to play. Game pass don't have Online subscription but you will have all the games. Ultimate is everything PC Pass xCloud, online subscription. consoles Game pass.

Wishing those cheaper 3m core codes would come back - they have been 50-100% more expensive the last few months vs most of last year

I've been going month-to-month for a few months now waiting on a decent deal, thinking about grabbing three of these to lock down 2 years after conversion. A little over $6/month seems like a pretty good deal to me.

I'm getting a series X for my son before he goes off to college this summer, will they still be useable in the fall?

Just a tip if people want to save a few bucks on the "converting to ultimate" part. Added 3 years of Core to my account first and then used a non-stackable 1-month ultimate code from eneba (around $2.50) to convert to the 2 years of ultimate.

So i just bought core for 57 from cd keys,
if i buy this core can it be added ( stacked ) without doing any kind of conversion?
ultimate seems real good - but i have horrible internet speeds so there is no point
in every going that route - but i do like to play the games i already own online.
( it took me 3 days just to download an update to call of duty disk i bought)

Does anyone know what the "shelf life" of these may be. My ultimate doesn't expire until 2025. Too long of a wait to risk buying and holding I'm assuming.
