How is it deceiving? Most "zero sugar" or "sugar free" things have artificial sweeteners. Whether you like the stuff or not, it is not debatable that sucralose is not sugar.

You can argue all day whether sucralose is healthy or not, if that's your thing, but it has upsides. It is effectively calorie free, which is a big deal since so many people in our culture consume a LOT of sugar calories. And it doesn't spike blood sugar levels in diabetics or those who are borderline, which HFCS, table sugar, or honey. It got me off sugary sodas, and I've since been able to cut down to 0-2 a day, after years of being addicted to calorie-laden, sugary pop. I wish it were an option in milkshakes, so I could get that monkey off my back now. LOL
You might, diabetics, etc may not.
Don't be ridiculous.

These zero sugar claims are deceiving. Just checked the label and it has sucralose. I'd prefer sugar over this stuff.

Great deal if you don't care or don't know about eating sucralose. Wish that it was monkfruit or stevia instead.

Let's be fair: The Olestra fiasco was a lot different than anything involving sucralose. Most people tolerate sucralose perfectly well, while Olestra is the reason we all learned the term "anal leakage," and why "anal leakage" was front page news. I don't know anyone who has encountered anything than alarming (or messy) after eating or drinking sucralose.

Visited my girlfriend at the time and polished down a whole bag of chips while she was at work. Tore up my insides, I read the bag and researched/learned what olestra was and that was the last time I ever finished any kind of bag of chips.

Code for frankensugar? As far as I can tell, you just made that up, because I've never heard it before, and most of the people I associate are perfectly capable of comprehending what artificial sweeteners are, what they do, and what they're not.

Meanwhile, real sugar and especially high fructose corn syrup (which could be code for Diabetes Juice or Sugar On Steroids, if you need to dumb things down) are the leading contributors to an absolute epidemic of obesity and diabetes. Sure, you probably shouldn't think it's okay to eat tons sucralose, aspartame, or acesulfame potassium with everything, but in normal quantities they've been proven to be very safe, and anything that potentially keeps modern people from ingesting so dang many calories (or ruining their pancreases) has some value.

And that's why Olestra-containing products are not sold in the US anymore (they may be available in some countries). The negative side effects were experienced by an awful lot of people, and they didn't necessarily only appear after consuming huge quantities. If it took a whole bag of chips to give you massive butt squirts, some people would still eat them happily, in moderation, but that often wasn't the case.

Lol. Surprisingly, I never had that problem and ate WOW chips all the time. All I drink is water with lemon these days, eat as healthy as possible and try to stay away from all the crap. Nearly everything has an artificial sweetener or an overwhelming amount of sugar. It was great in my 20s but now I'm knocking on 40s door and am in better shape that I've ever been. It's sad to see all the garbage being pushed as healthy options at the grocery store. The uninformed consumer doesn't have a chance.
