Zotac has 3070 open box with 2 year warranty for $285

This isn't a bad price for a 3060, but it's still not a great value. You can occasionally find new rx 6600, which are less than 10% slower in 1080p gaming, for $180 or under. New rx 6600xt, which are very slightly faster than the 3060 in 1080p gaming, can be found at $200 or under, though stock at those prices seems to have mostly dried up.

There are some downsides to an amd rdna2 card even in this price tier, namely a lack of dlss and cuda. The 12gb of vram is mostly pointless on the 3060, since it lacks the performance to adequately play games that would use anywhere near that much. Likewise, the raytracing advantage is moot in this performance tier.

Ultimately, even at $245, unless you have non-gaming workloads that the 3060 would be beneficial for, at this price tier you would be better off getting an amd card.
The peanut gallery can never compare apples and oranges. They'll measure new prices vs used then whine about condition / warranty on used vs new. They want everything both ways. Said thing is they are still running a 8800 GTX waiting for that 'next' card to release Wink

BTW, are we still saying "hOlD tHe LiNe BoYz" or is that over?

Bummer. I just picked up a used EVGA on ebay for a few bucks less.

The 3060 TI is likely a better choice when buying from the used market as these 3060's are not that large of a leap from the 2060's. The leap up to the 4060 does not seem that great either since the consensus is that the 4060 should have been named the 4050. Other than the addition of the 4-6GB of RAM.

That's the only reason why I went with the 3060 over the 4060 - that is selling locally on FB MP for around $245-260.

I'm not a hardcore gamer (primarily used for graphic design) and my 2060 died. Just looking to replace it with same or better. Don't have a big case or power supply so this seems like a decent option considering I'm not seeing anything better or cheaper in the local used market.

For me it's too many unknowns with a used video card. Buying new is worth quite a bit more to me because you don't have to worry about how it was used/stored, if it was used for mining, etc.

Seems like a good deal to me if you're not looking to play AAA titles for years to come.

Comments in this thread about used cards, but the listing says that it's new. Do people think it's not actually new?

I don't understand intel's naming conventions. Also are these going to be a nightmare if I play old games? I really want to try something new and my vega 56 is starting to show it's age.

bitcoin miners are starting to ramp up (currently targeting amd gpus), but that will affect entire market, so I'd say grab what you can and grab a raft!
