I have this phone and I actually like it. The screen and design are what does it for me. I don't game or "push" my phones so I don't care about the fastest chip.

If you want a large OLED 120hz screen with an up-to-date design for a cheap price then this is it.

Yeah there are missing features and much better phones out there but that's not the point. For the price nothing beats it.

Boost is the worst...A15 is also the worst phone in the today market.
Antutu benchmark shows its performance beats 2% phone (aka. 98% phones are better than it)

You have to activate the phone within 30 days. Otherwise, Boost will charge you the difference between the list price and sale price (another $160). After activation, you can do whatever you want with the phone though the phone will still be locked for a year. Somebody in another thread said when he got his device and phone got unlocked immediately. That however is a big YMMV.

An UNOFFICAL alternative to the A15 would be the A25 provided you do not mind paying another $60.

Samsung A25
$100 + $150 annual plan = $250

Never had boost. Can anyone comment on what to expect changing from Mint mobile? Which network does Boost use?
I had Boost for 3 months and also I have had Mint. Both were on T Mobile. I did not notice any difference in my area between the two. Just my opinion, nothing scientific.

What happened to your A15?
did you expect Sxx performance with Axx price?
well other phones on good deals cost around the same and have flagship chips. Pixel 6a, iPhone SE(I got one for 90$), Oneplus Nord series.

Most people find Samsung A series to be cheap crap. They are nothing but e waste.

And I can find performance that is BETTER than s24 in a 90$ iPhone SE. heck even a 2019 iPhone 11 is better than this cheap crap

Is it possible to get a year of service for $150 still without the phone?

Let's be honest, phones under 400$ are cheap and slow.

The A series phones only sell well because Samsung can produce them so cheaply.

The only people who buy them are the people who think: oh wow Samsung phone for 100$.

It sells well because the people who buy can't tell the difference between and iPhone 15 pro max and an A15.
Everyone knows there's a difference between a bicycle and a Ferrari...but if you're only going traveling distances of a mile at a time, you can get by with the bicycle and maybe even be happier due to its simplicity.

Not everyone is as oblivious as you think, they're just smarter with their money and time.

I have several phones just for the heck of it, high end and low end. The A15 sure is slow but it has things that a lot of other phones don't which is a large 6.5" 120hz OLED display. And if all you're doing is basic phone stuff and browsing the web then guess what? It handles all that fine.

I have no idea why you're so hellbound on crapping on this phone at every corner...no one cares. I'm here to tell you that this phone works for tons of people and to get a year's worth of service for less than the retail cost of the phone bundled with it makes it a good deal.

I have boost and I have the a15 5g.

You're in a world of hurt if you're gonna use this a15 garbage for a year. Its noticeably slower than my iPhone XS max (an aged flagship from 2018….) along with random stuttering.

If you're gonna go through with it, just set your expectations very low and prepare to still be disappointed with the phone performance.

Does anybody have a clear set of instructions what is the path to unlocking this device? Activate, wait a year, then what?

You activate the phone in the account with the $150 plan and keep using it for one year.
After one year, the phone will be auto-unlocked according to the Boost website.

This is a new thing. Nobody knows if it will be auto-unlocked or not.
You need 366 days of active service for unlocking theoretically.

Most people buy for the plan, not the phone.
So after activation, you can use the plan with a phone of your choice, and
sell A15 or use it as a car GPS or something.

****
You have to consider port out if main number. So unless you intend to buy 2nd year service, there is no point in keeping the phone for unlocking.
I have the plan from the last promo, I see there are plan change option. $60/month, $90/3month,.... $100/year (But new customer only)...
So basically you can convert your year plan to monthly $60 or $90/3 months (The same plan, but more expensive),,, $300/year(the same plan)......

Got the A15 5g for $40 in the Metro deal. It is slower than my A32 5g that is nearly 3 years old and that phone was slow 3 years ago. T -mobile was giving the A32 5G away for free just to "upgrade" people to 5G. The A15 has a nice OLED screen. It is a backup or kids phone only.

Nice, I need this deal but not for another 40 days or so. Hoping they bring it back again around April 16.

You probably will get downvoted for this by some as well as guy who said that people can't tell difference between this and iPhone 15 pro max but I strongly agree on part where lots of people go for cheap phones because that's what they can afford or type that will proudly say that their phone can do everything that $1K phones can (omitting that it will take 2-3x time with some apps) or that flagships are just overpriced but "same" stuff (I agree on overpriced part but same performance? 😂). From my experience when I encountered people with cheap phones they said they're ok with them but when shown difference especially in camera quality/response between that and flagship (especially in low lighting conditions or inside) that evidence was enough to prove that there's a reason other pay more.
Bottom line cheap phones have their use but after using something with higher performance it's harder to go back usually especially if difference is substantial, for people who say A15 is great phone it stands true only if they're happy with it and if they're then all is good but trying to argue that it's also good for rest is kind of silly.
I'm not the person you are replying to, but this needs to be reiterated more and more. Samsung, as a business, seems to be playing both sides of the coin very well, with their "flagship, top of the line" S series and "who needs to spend $1500 on a phone" A series.

but you can literally get the iPhone SE 2022 or iPhone 11 for cheaper. I dont get why this samsung is so good. cheap phones are not bad. its that his samsung is just terrible compared to competition

Can you get an iPhone 11 with a year of service for less than $200? If you can I'm not seeing that option.

Thanks for this, if you're actually going to use this phone as your primary phone the extra $60 seems like the way to go.
