Couple notes on getting a product like this:
I don't have this exact chair. Probably important I start with that. I have an older very capable chair that has all the bells and whistles from 10 years ago.
If you have a medical condition and/or pain that can be alleviated by a massage chair - RUN, don't walk - to buy one of these. I literally shed tears the first time I sat in one of these chairs at the mall. And I bought one. I don't regret it.
My particular chair has fake leather. It's flaking now, after 10 years, and looks terrible. I might buy this one now instead. Or just get a regular recliner since I'm properly medicated and don't necessarily need this massage chair as much as I used to (although I'll prob still need it in the future... I might just move my current one into my basement rec room for future use)
My family loves sitting in the chair when we host parties and such. Probably 1/4 to 1/2 of the folks in my family have back issues and love sitting in the chair once in awhile. It's also a fun novelty.
I do NOT find it comfortable as a regular chair to sit in very often. So I also don't like that the massage chair takes away space for another recliner in my family room. Folks can and do sit in it, but not for an entire NFL game, for example. Folks usually move around. It's not the most comfortable chair for long-term use.
No, I would not find it comfortable to sleep in. It's not a plush chair, by design. You also can't change your seating position easily (e.g., crossing your legs, shifting your weight from left to right. You're pretty locked into a straight-on seating position

Used to do that at my grandparents house many years ago. I definitely enjoyed using it to lounge and watch TV than your typical lazy boy

2D massage routine, quick pause, move in or out a little, 2D massage routine, repeat.
It doesn't move seamlessly in all 3 directions. Not really a 3D.
Save the money get 2D.
No for this particular model the most you can get is 30 mins massage ....it will return on a sitting position after the said 30 mins. Not unless you have someone unplug it while it's laying position...but not sure if it will return on a sitting position after all the power has been cut off
