Musician's Frriend and Guitar Center have same parent company. When MF advertises a new guitar at discount it is likely to be a floor demo guitar from an arbitrary Guitar Center store.
"Likely" is perhaps too strong of a word here. "Possibly" might be better. There are plenty of reports of buyers getting a display guitar, but just as many reports of buyers getting a sealed, boxed one. It seems to vary based on how high volume the specific guitar is, and whether they're being "clearanced out." It's easier for the store to slap a label on an unopened box than it is to find the display guitar, find the box, and package it all for shipping.
MF/GC should do a better job of knowing which guitars in inventory are demos or not, though.
While this is a really good deal, keep in mind that many of these Sam Ash deals are marked as "Ships from a Sam Ash store" - meaning that they are most likely display models, and may be a bit shopworn. Al least the item page also says that you will be contacted by the store regarding the condition of the item before it ships - as opposed to Musicians Friend, who does not disclose any of this information when they sell something as "new" that is actually a Guitar Center display model that may be in much less than "new" condition (ask me how I know...).
I'm not saying all Sam Ash are created equal but a few years back I bought a lightly used LP 58 reissue from a Sam Ash (via Reverb). I contacted them and then sent me some additional photos I had requested to satisfy my inquires. They were super helpful and made sure I was satisfied that the description fully matched the condition (which wasn't entirely ensured by the photos on display).
D'oh, that was a typo.

Thanks, the price is $1671.
I agree, it should solve its own problems, it would make our jobs easier lol. I see you updated the price in your post to $1671, so I went ahead and updated the price in your title and in the price fields to match the correct price after coupon now too. Thank you for replying and fixing your post
Well, with the Sam Ash store closures (about half), they probably have a good number to get rid of.
One consolation with getting a display model (which I never mind, if it comes with all its stuff and is undamaged) is that the higher end guitars like this will usually be kept out of reach of most customers. You have to ask to see these usually, because they're behind the counter or far out of reach.
How many openings to Stairway to Heaven would've been played per guitar on average?

Heavier. Maybe a little more sustain. Not great for gigs due to the extra weight.
