I know some might prefer the Winix 5500-2, especially at a lower price, but it has an ionizer you have to turn off each power-on (or disconnect internally), and the only available color is black, which some may not prefer for their home aesthetic.
Lastly, I know genuine replacement filters have a higher price point, but they last 12-18 months and contain a higher activated carbon pellet count/density than third-party or competitor filters. Some other filters use carbon fibers or no carbon at all.
