This is an odd battery if you're trying to use it for non-dewalt uses. Anything more than I think 2A current draw will turn off the battery. There's a resistor you can put in a couple of the pins that will allow higher current, you'll have to Google specifics. I have no idea how to charge this one with non-dewalt means. The 60V and regular 20V batteries don't have these DRM limitations, so I'm sticking with those for now.

Can you give examples of using a dewalt battery for non-dewalt uses? Are you referring to use with other brand power tools, using those battery adapters? Or something else entirely?
Brands aside, usually do top brand batteries inherently perform better than their equivalents from lower-priced brands like Ryobi HP, Ridgid Max Output, ect?

I use dewalt batteries in other tools like ryobi and metabo. There are adapters readily available on amazon and ebay.

They work great on dyson vacuums with adapter. A lot cheaper than replacing the dyson battery.
Wow this is good price for 5Ah Power Stack. Since my only Dewalt cordless is drywall sander and power pruning this should give me good runtime and make it much lighter to handle.

Remember you can get an adapter to fit Dewalt 18 volt nicad batteries and they work very well.
