Years later, I dropped 120 hours into Elden Ring. WAY more accessible. It can be just as difficult, but you're able to go level up and find better equipment much easier.
I just recently went back to Dark Souls 1, and my newfound skills from Elden Ring are taking me all the way through it. But, I also recognize how much more polished Elden Ring is, so there's that.
Anyhow, I do recommend at least doing Elden Ring. It's amazing.

That pretty much deterred me from any Souls type game.
Now that I see that Elden ring might be better for new players I think I will try that
I'm not a bad gamer, I beat halo on heroic and played through Doom eternal on Ultra violence. Also got halfway through Cuphead on normal with no issue. Just for some reason Dark Souls really killed me.
