Curious about this one. Nice design, laser should make colors nice, but 500 ANSI lumens seems really low for this price point. That's double the price for half of what battery-powered projectors can put out.

500 ansi for this price is absurd. Anker Nebula Mars 3 is frequently on sale for around $750 and is portable with amazing battery life, and 1,000 ansi.

The numbers on this unit just don't add up, where is the value?

This is more than a dollar a lumen...bad deal seriously. They know it too since they are loading on the perks

ANSI lumen ratings are often quite inflated... maybe the LG rating is actually reasonable? Either way, I am not looking to pre-order any projector at this price w/o some good reviews, etc, but someone had tested the Anker Nubula Mars 3 and measured it a little over 500 lumens in the 'accurate' mode, FWIW (and laser does come w/ some premium still).

Until this is on the market and I see a third party review I'll pass. $1300 is a lot to gamdle on it being that nice.

Normally I would agree, but "lumin" rating is what's usually inflated. ANSI luminance rating is supposed to be the actual non inflated value. So, if we take the company at their word, 500 ansi vs 1000 ansi at double the price literally makes no sense at all.

As to whether they are inflated, you can pull up any Nebula Mars 3 review on YouTube or RTINGS, which confirm its 1,000 ansi. I have no clue where you got your information from or who this "someone" is.

Laser is the only benefit LG has here. I assume laser is better technology, but the brightness on this laser is so much lower than what your money gets you elsewhere that it's hard to find the value here. Again, this is an opinion based on the widely available public information. Someone may prefer LG over anything else regardless…

It looks like the real slick deal would be for nebula mars 3 to drop in price more (below $700 maybe?), or, a laser option with over 1000 ansi luminosity to go on sale for a similar price.
