They have a lifetime warranty. Call them, they should swap the batteries out for free. My new ones don't have the leak issue.

I have done 2 and was told it goes against the lifetime 3 replacements

"24V Batteries & Chargers: Limited Lifetime Warranty with Registration. Maximum of 3 battery replacements will be covered."

I will call tomorrow and find out

I'm not downing the Tools, I have tons of milwaukee fuel tools and would put the flex stuff I have right with them

I did not know there was a limit of 3. Tho if feel a manufacturing issues like the leaking batteries should be covered regardless. Hope they'll swap them for you and from a new, good batch.
They are definitely powerful tools. I mostly run Makita LTX with a couple of Flex. I really like the hefty weight on them and the ergonomics are close to Makita.
Edit: according to CR you can just wipe it off and keep using them

Tools are meant to be purchased for use, not for contacting customer service to replace batteries. They limit the replacement times to three, which indicates that they know that the frequency of their battery failures far exceeds three times. And I don't have time to make phone call replace that "3times only lifetime warranty" battery.

I believe the 3 cap is because of the lifetime warranty. But it got them off to a bad start with the new 24v line.lots of trade schools use them so you start seeing them job more and more. DEWALT only offers 3 years max and their flexvolt have not been without problems either. Their 20v have the 'it won't charge' issue. Milwaukee is 2 years I believe.
Having lived in Europe I know flex as a 100+ years old brand that's very much high end. But if this deal is not for you, that's just fine. If you like Flex, this is a pretty good deal.

The newer batteries that ship now starts with "1123" as their serial. All of these have no black goo issues. I'm paraphrasing what a rep in the know told someone and have verified its true.

The new stock does not have any goo issues.

Flex has done a good job in response to the black goo issues.

"I have no idea what that's like" he said looking at 3 of his impact drivers and 4 cordless drills 😆.
Acme also has a Flex kit with their angle grinder and impact on sale in case you need more tools you don't need.

I really don't need it but I'm so tempted to pick it up anyways, I'm pretty sure that's a 5amp battery in the kit so what to do…

I got the angle grinder too. Even the Milwaukee fanboys at work (we're a Milwaukee distributor) were impressed.
