Rare sale on the Alox version. They're the smallest. Just know they don't have the tweezers or toothpick.

Historical average around $29. Lowest price $16 over 10 years ago. This is a solid price, don't think it'll ever be lower with inflation the way it's been. In for one.

Any benefits to this one over the Classic SD?

I'm more of a Rambler guy. It has Tweezers / Toothpick / Bottle opener / Phillips screwdriver additionally.

Goodness! Why do these keep going up in price year after year?

Just for giggles, I checked my Amazon history, because I buy these somewhat often either as stocking stuffers or when mine get confiscated by security.

2013: $11.15
2018: $14.95
2022: $16.97

I don't think inflation alone accounts for this...

Frankly I think these are outclassed by keychain tools like the Leatherman Squirt or Gerber Dime. The swiss scissors are better but that's about it. Lack of pliers is big.

Thanks for the heads up. The toothpick is useless but the tweezers come in clutch. I guess I'll have to wait for a sale on the regular version.

It's thinner, so smaller in your pocket, and a bit more formal in appearance.

The aluminum sides make the casing somewhat more durable than the standard plastic. If you smack the standard version on the sides with a sledgehammer, the plastic will crack but the aluminum will just dent. I prefer the standard version because it has tweezers, though.

Or maybe a different class. I use the alox for something small and light at work or a formal occasion.

Toothpick is priceless when you need one …. and knowing it's on your key ring.

So funny, I just lost my Classic that I'd been carrying in my pocket every day for years and years and now this deal shows up. But I ended up getting a standard Rambler for the tweezers and bottle opener.
