It's been said before but I'll say it again. This is not the same as directtoolsoutlet, so there's no warranty and a lot of hit and miss with getting used or open box items. I've purchased 5 different tools, 3 were like new, 1 doa and 1 was missing the battery/charger and accessories.

Agree. But that said, Tools Direct has a really good return policy. It can be hit or miss. But if you don't like what you got, just send it back.

They also ship it in the manufacturers box with 0 packaging material. Often times I receive an item that has been dinged up during shipping because they refuse to package it properly.

Yup I just got the brad nailer and package was busted open lol. It's missing the no mar tip as well as that's the spot that had busted out of the packaging.
The reciprocating saw I also ordered didn't even have tape on one side of the box and was just open.
Got mine and it looks ok despite being opened box and used (had a set of nails in already). I only have one non-marring pad so guess the other got tossed / not returned but that's pretty small given the discount. Seemed to shoot nails ok after some fidgeting with it (didn't shoot anything for a while, and just damaged the workpiece on fire).

Mine was okay as well and sounds similar. Definitely had been use (but not abused) and came with nothing extra except the manual.
After figuring out the order of button presses and whatnot, it seemed to work fine to sink 2 in brads into soft woods. Haven't tried oak or something similar, but seems like it will be good for DIY trim work without having to worry about a hose.

At least my box was still taped shut...
