Heads up. I just glanced at the size chart, and noticed the stack heights of these bikes are extremely low. If you are taller or have long legs, this is going to force you into a very bent-over race bike posture. The X Ambition they sell does not have this issue.
Doesn't say but looks like 9mm QR whereas the Redwood has a thru axle. The drivetrain says "Shimano" but the shifter in the picture is LTWOO brand. I'd be willing to bet the only thing Shimano on that bike is the derailleur. I would take a Microshift drivetrain any day over that setup. Also 2x7, you may like that, you may not. The redwood is a 1x. Seeing as the cassette is a 7 speed, there's an outstanding chance it's a freewheel whereas the Redwood has a freehub. Tapered vs straight headtube. Does the Ozark Trail internal routing for a dropper? I can't tell as there's no mention of it. In fact, not much about the specs or geometry are mentioned. Also that frame seems to only come in medium, and it doesn't seem to actually be available anywhere? Again, no mention of rim size, but likely the rims are a bit less wide than the Redwood's given the stock tire size on each. Comes down to preference, sure, but I don't think the quality difference between the bikes is negligible at all. It may very well be that the Ozark Trail is a better buy for you given your preferences and budget, but I truthfully don't see it being as reliable or durable, given the differences between the two platforms and components. I've bought a Walmart bike in the past that make many of these sacrifices in quality, and upgrading ended up costing a lot more than 500 when all was said and done - and no matter what that bike is forever stuck with a 9mm QR, so it wasn't really a worthwhile investment when I could have just bought into a better platform to begin with. With that said, amazing to be able to buy a gravel bike at either of these price points. What a time to be alive.
Great bike at the $900 price, $500 is a dang steal.

For the people that can't tell the people between this and a walmart bike, they don't know anything about bikes

There's also the code rw700 that gives a $50 discount on the optional add-on 700c wheels, $200 for a second set of wheels is a good deal. They aren't lightweight though so if you really want a second set for road use you can do better (for more $$$).

I would personally recommend the Small but really depends on your inseam vs arm length and preference. According to chart though 5'4 to 5'7 is XS.

Nice find. $200 for new wheelset with Poseidon customer support is great option. 2200g isn't light but will need to spend cost of the bike for a new 700c wheelset that weighs under 1900g. Can drop 2-3lbs just making stock wheelset tubeless with new tires. Redwood stock Kenda tire are around 1140g each and tubes are 260g each! Stock wheelset without 160g rotors itself weighs about 2000g for 650b - not horrible. New aluminum Chainring can drop 100g for $10.

I was looking at newer gravel/touring style bikes and was very tempted to pick up one from posideon. They seem to offer a lot for the price. I ultimately ended up with a used older trek 520 for a fraction of the price of the posideon. I really like the trek so far but I quickly realized I've missed way too many leg days !

Cycling is predominantly an endurance sport and will challenge your cardiovascular system ahead of your leg musscles by a long margin.

Even if you are a monster @ squating and "have never missed a leg day," there would be challenges ahead.

The most important thing is throwing a leg over your bike and riding. so you are on the right path Wink
