this is a horrific deal on an 3 years old model. type soundcore on slickdeals searchbar and find the recent upgraded releases for about same price.

I see your point. However, this older model is considered to have better sound from a music/audiophile perspective. So it's more desireable by some people.
There's a fellow on YouTube named Olaf, a very serious audiophile, who maintains that this is one of the best and beats the newer SoundCores.

If I'm not mistaken, this model does not support ANC in wired mode.

That is correct, it used to support it, then they issued a firmware update which took it away, and there was no way to roll back that firmware update.
