Which of these supports upgradable memory? The number one killer of older laptop (in terms of usability) is memory, not CPU, as each iteration of OS continues to bloat.

Very happy with a recent 7400 purchase, and wanted to get another one... Smilie

Dell Refurbished (FedEx Recyling) does a great job with older desktops. "Grade A" selections will provide you with new looking systems.

However, FedEx can't do the same with laptops, especially these 3-5 year old Latitudes. While desktops don't move and aren't touched much, corporate laptops are constantly being moved, touched, rubbed, clicked, dropped, spilled, bumped, changing owners, etc.

I've made two separate orders of Latitude "Grade A" units. Both arrived looking like they were used in airport kiosks or as rentals. Missing paint, shiny touchpads, etc. Many other buyers have experienced similar issues, but some do much better.

Therefore, it is highly YMMV. Unlike buying "open box" or "new", you aren't buying a specific product here, in terms of condition. The photos mean nothing. While FedEx has been good for some as far as returns and replacements, they haven't been accommodating to everyone. In my case, I was "0 for 2". I should have tried even harder to return them, or do a credit card chargeback.

Lastly, you're buying from FedEx Recycling, not Dell, or Dell Outlet, or Amazon, etc.
....you say this literally every. single. dell. post. give. it. a. rest.

Maybe he works for Apple lol

I would buy a Dell Used Refurbished over most Ebay /Amazon refurb any day for rock bottom pricing

3/4 good experience with FedEx DFS 24 orders . Yes , 6 didn't work out or we're defective on 14 inch chassis. They responded within 1-2 days.

I bought a Grade B 5400 last year. It came in perfect condition. Just added more ram and replaced the battery. It's been solid so far.

In my personal experience, Dell laptops and tablets tend to be less durable than the average.

My theory is some sort of autism which makes him unable to let go. Just have a look at his posts activity to see how committed he is to this fearmongering. DFS has made things right without fail, but mysteriously this guy had a bad customer service experience. I can only imagine why....

I actually think the 7400 series has soldered RAM. Have you checked your current laptop? The 5310s I have (touch and 2-in-1s) all have two DIMM slots.

On the 7400 series? My 5310 2-in-1s are upgradeable.
