If the constantly full shelves of soft drinks at stores I frequent are any indication, they've finally raised prices into the realm of demand destruction.

Diet sodas are safe to drink up to 3 months beyond the expiration date. Regular sodas are safe to drink up to 9 months after the expiration date. The level of carbonation may decrease, and the flavor won't be as intense, but they're considered safe within these limits.
If they were expired (which is very unusual), why not just exchange them for fresher ones?
The closest stores to NYC would be either North Bergen, NJ or Carle Place, Long Island. Not exactly practical, unless you drive and would need to travel to either of these general areas anyway.
I would swear they are adding something to the pop to make it taste bad at the same time it expires. I remember drinking expired pop 20 years ago and it tasted fine. Now I've had it taste bad when it still has two weeks before it expires. I won't buy it anymore unless it has several months before expiration.

When I got home I had a survey from Big Lots waiting in my inbox. The gist of the survey was that Big Lots is trying to transition to a discount home furnishing store and thus they don't care if they sell any of this food or not. They are going after their furniture and home wares profits over anything else and they are trying to rebrand themselves but haven't figured out exactly how to do it so they are asking for help on how to do this.
This is a solid price for soda for sure but I am done with Big Lots until they "find themselves". haha
"This is now $0.93 less than the recent +126 Frontpage Deal!", is wrong
On the previous 3/$12 deal you could stack the DEAL20 with this same WELCOME15.
$12.00 x 0.80 x 0.85 = $8.16
Not too mention, I used a BoA 10% cash back which dropped before Chase. Netting a recently elusive $2.45/12-pack.

Also, selection is very limited - No RC Cola, no cherry coke, no cherry pepsi, no Dr. Pepper cream soda.
I used to work for Pepsi. A couple weeks out of date is not gonna hurt you or the flavor. Canned Pepsi is fine 30 days out of date. I've drank lots of it
Northern term....
