This is an extremely capable full-frame camera that has weather sealing, in-body stabilization, a high megapixel sensor, and over 1,000 focus points in the auto-focus system. This is intended for serious photography or a camera you can buy once and have great capability for a long, long time.

You have to call and purchase. If you purchase and call, they will cancel the purchase and redo the whole process.

Yeah I thought the same thing, but I misremembered the R6 mark 1 deal for $1100 last christmas as the mark ii price. Cheapest for the mark ii was $1759 from expired listings.

$1800 is too expensive for me. I just grabbed the 6D mark ii for $700 during that christmas sale

The R6II is almost a mini R3. Just no CFExpress though and smaller. The focus speed/capabilities are much better than the R5 imo and I own R6II, R5, and R3.

because resellers like you suck and buy these cameras at those cheap prices and sell them at 3x the cost on ebay
You got that right, I sold them all and made a big profit. God bless America woot

Then go back a few years ago in your time machine to pick up these supposed "deals" on these "Powershot" cameras - and of course, don't provide links to these said deals either.
I said a few years ago (like 4-5 years) how can I provide a link when it was a clearance sale as far as I remember.

This particular camera is intended for professionals. If you don't need its dual card slots or IBIS the R8 is 90% of this camera for a lot less. For context, I paid more ~2k for a used R6 mark 1 at a similar point in its product cycle (a little over a year after its release).

The PowerShots... this is just a guess, but I imagine that's an offshoot of the renewed interest in film shooting. People are after old digital cameras with small sensors because they have the distinct "look" of the 2000s and early 2010s, which people with disposable income are nostalgic for.
I realized that much when I checked recent sold items on eBay. It's crazy paying that much for an old P&S camera.

Yup!!! Confirmed they just want the serial number (and don't want the camera back).
Does it have to be an old old camera, I have a Canon Eos R, will that work ?

Don't think so. The lowest prices I've ever seen from Canon's refurb stuff was last black friday / christmas. R6I: $1100, R6II: $1800 and R5: $2200.
Heard good things about R5. What aspects are R6ii inferior to R5 ?

Maybe an idea for those looking for an old canon camera serial number…

Look on eBay for older canon cameras and see if any of the pictures in the listing have a picture of the serial number?! Might be worth a shot

Big difference is 45mp on the R5 vs 24mp on the R6II. If you need to higher res sensor or want to shoot 8k than get the R5. The R6II has a better AF system (from the R3), faster shooting (40 vs 20 fps), still can shoot 4k/6k.

All the other differences between the two are minor like high res EVF and LCD on the R5. R5 is SD/CF, R6II is 2xSD.

What's the best camera for indie film making? I'm guessing the red magic 6k pro. Max budget $2500
