I think they may be assigning that amount to the receiver, and the other savings amount to the speakers/subs.

It's all fuzzy math anyways when retail is so inflated.

the receiver is $500 on a good day, you're paying $1000 for the speakers. honestly not a steal by any means but okay deal. would be better with a 9.2 receiver.

Anybody know how adorama alone could do these crazy prices for speakers and receivers which no other retailer in US can even come near ?

this bundle is not just speakers for $1k + $500 receiver, but also comes with 2 subwoofers and likely cost at least $250 to ship

\they likel6y are buying qty's of 100's if not 1000'd, so probably getting better prices than other retailers, who maybe buying 5-10, so don't need to discount and waiting for people who may not know any better Smilie

What do you mean by "people not knowing any better"? I was thinking about possibly buying some these speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you mentioned how other stores don't discount these or other speakers... that's what the reference was for... i.e those stores who don't have sales have little inventory and rely on others to pay full price (who don't come here and know any better).

I'm planning for a home theater in my basement probably 24x13 size.. does this set worth buying? I may plan to hook this with 4 ceiling atoms speakers as well..

Um check out accessories 4 less. Way cheaper than adorama. Got $1500 denon for $800, 3700h couple years ago with 3 year warranty and upgrade 120hz boxes free when they were released year later. Way cheaper than anyone else. Still works amazing in 11 channel setup. Just gotta look around. There is also world wide stereo.

I would stay away from the reference line and go with the RP series. Adorama had a great deal on a RP bundle last month that's a way better deal imo
