What exactly are you referring to? I've used hue for a few rooms in my house for years now,and have them integrated with home assistant just fine. I use schedules with conditionals, and have a few buttons on my stream deck in my office and it's pretty reliable.

I feel the better route to go now is smart switches, but since I have a few rooms already with bulbs, I'm tempted here to get another 12-16 to finish up the larger main rooms of the house
I went through like 8 different "smartish" systems and got fed up and paid extra for all Hue stuff with my Alexa. No issues at all.

I can't take the chance on expensive hue stuff with only a 90-day warranty. :-(

Yeah, I don't know what "HA" is. 🤷 ♂️
However, I started buying Hue bulbs around 2015, so far I've had good luck with them… haven't had any burn out yet. One time I bought a Hue Iris (basically a lamp) from Amazon Warehouse and they shipped it with the Iris, a bridge, and two functioning Hue bulbs (one was defective). So, I feel like I'm coming out ahead.

And I really like them, it's at the point now (almost a decade later) when my wife turns on an incandescent light I wince because I know she's going to forget it and leave it on, while I already accounted for that with all our hue bulbs turning off automatically at 11:30 (she always falls asleep watching TV!).

I started supplementing the Bulbs with HomeKit-compatible WiFi smart outlets connected to lamps (and an air filter, Christmas tree in season), those work pretty well too but obviously I can't get fancy with dimming or colors (and they CLICK on/off loudly!)

I assume by HA you mean home assistant. I must have missed the controversy, but what is the issue with Hue? I have a whole bunch of Hue bulbs all the way back to Gen 1, and they integrate just fine with home assistant. In fact, I just bought six more BR30 from the 20% off deal and every single new bulb I added showed up in home assistant without me having to do anything. The Philips hue integration picked up everything automatically.

Is the lightstrip : a (lightstrip plus) extension or a (lightstrip plus extension)

I think it's just an extension for a lightstrip plus but Its very confusing. at that price i'd think its just an extension

It'd behoove you to clarify what you mean and to not assume people know what abbreviations mean.

What does this made up marketing-speak "Hue White" mean? Is the color temperature fixed or tunable?

I think they are the 2700k non tunable. Those are called white ambiance.

This Hue white can only dim but not be able to change temperature of the white light - not variable temperature. I believe they are soft white which means it's 2700K in temperature. This would provide a pleasant warm lighting and not harsh bluish white. I hope this helps.
