I don't see the warranty terms.
(Newegg's 30 days return isn't adequate.)

90 Day Asus Warranty

This listing would seem to be for a factory refurbished Acer Chromebook shipped and sold by Newegg.

Good luck!

I use to be a huge proponent of Chromebook. They are fast, secure, and you never have to worry about Windows updates.

Until I owned a few for a while (including the original google Pixel), and then realized they are just e-waste in disguise. After a few years, google will just stop provide updates for your model, and you are suppose to just throw it in the garbage and buy another one, for no good reason other than, we are google and there's nothing you can do about it. It pisses me off to no end to have a perfectly capable laptop, but the browser is so obsolete that it isn't usable anymore.

Not to mention all the schools that are buying these chromebooks in bulk. It solves the education problem (cheap usable laptop), but just creates so much e-waste because for a corporation/school district, there's no option but to throw it in the garbage once google drops support for a model.

One of the most disgusting business policy I've seen in a long time.

Sorry for hijacking this thread. Just wanted people to be aware of the limitations of Chromebook. If you are the type that uses a computer/lap for a while before upgrading, Chromebook may not be the best option for you. I can put the latest browser on a 15 year old PC or laptop, but I can't upgrade the browser on a much more capable chromebook.

I see what you're talking about. I've been working in education for a while now, and Chromebooks turn into giant e-waste piles after their expiration. I remember having having one of the early Acer C710 Chromebooks and the RAM and Hard drive were user upgradeable - no the case anymore. Frown

A $100 chromebook is not expected to last forever. I have tossed $1000 apple laptops in the trash after 5 years of service and do not expect any electronic crap to last very long.

Thousand of dissposabel E-cigs are tossed in the trash every day and no one complains about this waste.

Not sure I follow your point. windows stops support for its OS eventually too. I have Chromebooks that are no longer supported and still work fine. You just dont get lastest features or security upg just like windows and apple. I'm not aware of any company that provides lifetime support

Well, there's Chrome OS Flex which Google touts that it gives old laptops a 2nd life. You can install Chrome OS Flex on AUE'ed Chromebooks but not everything works like audio, Bluetooth or wifi. However, there are a few old Chromebooks where everything works like the Acer c720 and C740.

For those that dont need google playstore or apps, i recommend disabling them to increase speed, ram availability, and battery life
