Ive owned pretty much every model of Vornado fans and a few heaters.

The best model for the money is the 753 Large Air Circulator - sells for $80 but always on sale for $60

Always look at the specs for any Vornado model, the CFM (power of the fan to speak) is one of the highest on the 753 models - higher than models Vornado is charging 2x as much

Vornado's warranty is some of the best in all of retail but as a company they are moving towards gimmicks like Alexa integration vs making fans that have powerful motors

You then say why are you worried about a huge powerful fan this isnt a slickdeal for a garage fan - but if they are reducing speeds on their fans what other corners have they started to cut?

Vornado for life here but buying any model without any issues is no longer the norm
For larger Vornado pedestal option, with a DC motor check this other deal out. Normally $100 on sale and $129 regular, with deal just $50. Marked as expired but it still works fine, keeps coming in and out of stock. Working now when tested.

Can anyone speak to the bearing life of vornado fans? I feel like Honeywell [and even the orange home depot fans which blow like crazy] all die in about a year from the bearings seizing up. (worse, the motor housings are crimped together so they are not intended to be user-serviced

I've owned two of these for the last couple of years.

I'm a big fan.

Great customer service also.

Never owned a vornado but anyone ever compare them to the $15 Honeywell clone? Are they really that much better for the price? I can feel air from the Honeywell 30 feet away in my basement
The problem with the Honeywell I had was that one day it literally set itself on fire but luckily I was right there and was able to throw it out of my front door. I did have one Vornado die while it was still under warranty and Vornado just sent me a new one. They didn't even ask me for proof that it was broken. I think the bearings went bad but I never looked into what went wrong.

Call them. There is a number on the bottom that you provide. There should also be a date that it was made. If accepted, you will be asked to cut the cord and send them a picture that includes the code on the bottom. I've done this twice when my fans just stopped.

Oh jeeze that's scary I let one (Honeywell) run 24/7 in my basement to move air, been about 2 years now and starting to make noise, the thought of it catching fire I'll probably toss it now. Thanks!

There is a 5 year warranty. If it stops, contact Vornado, and you will be sent a new fan. I've done this twice.

Well, you can't possibly beat costco "Pelonis 2 in 1 Turbo Heater + Fan" for $25 while priced $65 at Amazon all year long, it even has heat option. Grabbed two while it's at $25 from costco.com.

I've been running it in my office now 24x7 since Jan this year. It's been flawless, super quiet.

This model sucks if you're in a dusty area, because it's not easy to clean at all. I'm looking to replace mine asap.

Go to the warranty page there is an email and phone - i always call way faster. Then on the back of your unit there will be a sticker with the date of manufacture, serial #, and other info. The customer service rep will ask you for this. Then they will ask you to send a picture of your cord that you cut with scissors to prove the fan is no longer usable (to most people who cant solder a new cord in). Usually they like the picture of the cut cord to show the serial sticker as well. Within 2-3 business days you will get a brand new fan. Ive done this probably 8-10x. They are strong motors but not meant to be ran 24 hours a day. Ive had one running in an area that needs ventilation at all times literally around the clock and it just crapped out on me after 14 months.

Any thoughts on DC vs AC air circulators? I think the 753 is AC, right?
There is alot of people who think the older models use a lot more energy - it's just not the case we are talking dollars and thats if u turn the fan on the 1st of the month and turn it off on the 30th. Rule of thumb for buying fans - go with the largest CFM - 400-500 makes a huge difference

The vornado alexa integration is legit. I have one with Alexa and use it frequently to turn it on/off and change fan speed at a distance. I almost got a 'dumb' vornado to connect with a smart plug but that wouldn't have allowed me to control the speeds.
At the prices Vornado is selling the Alexa unit its not worth it.

At first they were almost double the similar non Alexa model and almost all Alexa models have lower CFM/fan power

Even if it's $2.50, for a fan nothing tops Vornado

Thanks for the info! Now I want a 753. It appears that the last time it was posted here was 2013. Where does it usually go on sale for $60? I'll keep an eye out.
It was on sale on the actual website one time and I believe Bed Bath and Beyond had it on sale at one point as well. Honestly even at $80 you wont find a better fan and it has a teflon warranty.

I havent looked closely enough but im pretty sure its their most powerful fan (based on CFM) that is flying under the radar since it is an older model

Other cool Vornados that I have that you can check out are there windowsill units. They fit 90% of window sills and are amazing for hotel visits to get some circulation or if you want to vape in your room lol

I didn't know any people were so passionate about fans.

Does this one have a mechanical switch? I have a larger Vornado from Costco but it's a touch switch and always turns on at full speed. It also can't be controlled by an outlet because of the touch buttons 👎
