Yeah it's dumb they don't just threaten and force publishers to lower their prices and instead let the game companies set their own sales
It's probably because they want to continue pleasing the publishers so they can move their libraries over to the next console (Switch 2). Microsoft was sort of doing this in a different way but it back fired hard on them (publishers wanted physical games to be used on one console only so there isn't any resale). The E3 announcement for the Xbox One screwed them over hard by pissing off consumers. Nintendo could technically pressure publishers like Valve as you say since they're the current leading console platform. Maybe they'll drop them harder on the next console.
I can't recommend It Takes Two enough! It's very creative in it's gameplay and all that. Way too much cut scenes which are skippable. Kids might have some vague issues with puzzles. I played it with 2 different adults and at times we would be stumped for a bit. Usually, that was right before we would smack our heads at the obvious solution. Either way, tons of fun!

I really hope we get more titles like it in the future. My wife and I have been playing it and it's so good

check out "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons" https://www.nintendo.com/us/store...ns-switch/ - i was looking for other couch co-op games and bought this on sale about a week ago - turns out it is by the same director (!) as It Takes Two . Previous game from ten years ago, about two brothers on a quest to find something that can save their father. Can be played by one player controlling both characters - or by two people with separate controllers.

Thanks! I actually came across the other day when I was looking for co-ops on Steam. Seems like they just released a remake of it

pls put "Digital" in the title if so (some of us want physical)

While some do want physical, most prefer digital and yet most aren't putting (physical only) in those titles

The Switch Tax is real.
