Yes, it can handle fish of that size. For a reel you care most about the line rating and capacity it can handle.

Depends on a lot of factors. If you're experienced, you can fish out of range for what the equipment is rated, such as fishing for bluegills using sea trolling equipment or 30lb carp with a dockdemon rated for 6lb fish, etc. generally you'll want to get the right equipment for the right fish, and this one is rated for 10lb to 15lb line, which is medium sized, inshore, fresh water fish, and mostly popular with bass fishing.

I ordered last week came in on Friday, Broken could not reel in. Lots of bad reviews gave it A shot and it failed brand new. Could not add string to even try to cast it.

Get yourself cheap 1" PVC tubing, and store your 7' rod.
This way, you won't have to worry about rod damaged.
I'd much rather one piece rod than having to deal with issues dealing with 2 piece rod.

All my rods are one piece and most of them are over 7'，one piece is much better than two pieces when you are using. The force needs to propagates back to the backbone to support the fighting with fish. One piece is much better doing this.
