I really liked this - combining a bank with a 45 watt charger. I have the larger 65 watt version as well and it perfectly fits my charging needs (6800U Laptop, iPhone 15 Pro, iPad Pro). The battery bank has saved me on a few occasions when I didn't have an outlet and needed to get something done when my laptop was dead.

Most companies make a point to keep just under 100Wh for TSA. If they go over it, they tend to go way over it (~200Wh+) since it's not fly-able.

I very very rarely come across something that's marginally too much ... and frankly I don't think the TSA would notice in the first place. Too busy arguing with me that Ice in my thermos is water therefore a liquid.

I bought this off Amazon for $30 a few weeks before this sale, so I think the $70 msrp is inflated. I do think it's a great product for certain situations.

As a commuter, this lets you power a laptop and charge a phone at work, and the modest battery pack is sufficient in a pinch for your commute back, out to dinner, etc.

I've seen this and several similar options along the way. I owned an older (non-anker) dual charger/power-bank in the past.

IMO this is a niche worst-of-both-worlds option. It's marginally smaller/lighter than having the two separate items (charger + battery bank) but then you have to carry both no matter if you need just one or the other.

Out for a walk and need a battery? well you also need to bring the charger. Headed to starbucks and want plug in power? well you need to bring the battery bank too.

70 bucks retail is just silly. You can get a charger and 5000mah bank for less. 27 bucks isn't bad for what it is...but what it is seems dumb.

I don't have any experience taking this device on a carry on luggage but I did notice in my research an Amazon user stated on Amazon [amazon.com] that it is and I've also personally carried on similar without any problems.

This is around 25WH so well within the 100WH TSA limit.

I really like the idea of this BUT in reality I already have issues with chargers falling out of receptacles and I think this will just exasperate it with the added weight.

You may want to update your receptacles. Though I think this would be best for travel, and outlets during travel always seem to be very loose.

For something like this. Do you always leave it on the outlet and use it as a charger or?

I flew with a whole beef tenderloin in my carry on backpack a few years ago. The TSA agent wasn't sure if it was allowed and asked her manager about it from across the security area. "Is it frozen?" "Yep" "Send him on his way!" 😅

I just bought a new 3 port Gan charger from Anker and it came with a silicone suction mount to help it stay plugged in.

I had the older Anker Fusion series and it did not feature a pass through until the battery is depleted. Meaning while plugged in the wall, and with a device charging, it will deplete the battery first to give the device the faster priority charging.
But if this charger is capable of 45W via wall charge, it should be able to allocate 20W to device and the other 25W to top off battery. Ideally you wouldn't want it to work that way as charging and depleting at the same time will overheat unit, causing damage to battery.

On the contrary, I think this is a genius idea. 5000 mAh is not enough for me. I carry a 20000 mAh. In reality I'll bring both. This Anker combo will make sure the battery is full at all time. And that's important.
