Because it hurts much less to lose an inexpensive tool than a $200 tool. Nowadays there's no point in spending big bucks for a knife when you can get very good steels in knives that are $40 & under. I'm happy with my Rat2D2.

Almost tempted by the pictured set just for the sheath. My son just bought a SOG field knife and the sheath is comes with is nice but holds it pretty high on your belt.

We were at bass pro this weekend and got a universal sheath that looks a lot like that one for $6. If we hadn't already picked that up this would have been a no brainer for sure.

for $6 it isn't bad. It is a little sloppy of a fit, but it is universal so I get it. If you give it a tiny squeeze the edge of the handle of the knife can fit in and it is more snug. The belt loop is a bit more loose than needed as well.

$20 for a basic Mora Companion seems like robbery to me. These things used to be less than $10 all day every day, and they haven't changed a bit.
