Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Until they make an EV which fully recharges in 15-20 mins (this is the time taken to refill gas, use the restroom and grab something to munch on while I'm on long trips) I'll be avoiding these for now. As it stands, Toyota's hydrogen engines look more promising.
What county are you from lol

Total monthly payments are $8,676.
Where's that from or do they somehow vary?
Like same msrp and each dealer has different shit fees, even though it's national offer?!
MN offers $2500 ev credit makes this even slicker, but closest IL dealer with stock has crappy lease

I don't think you'll see that ever, unless the battery pack is the size of a backpack. The biggest issue is the recycling of old EVs. I imagine the reason why Toyota and Honda have invested significantly in hybrids because it's the best of both worlds and there will never be full reliance on electric. The market has been satisfied which is why you see productions of new EVs being shut down and demand being stagnant, resulting in these huge price reductions to move products.

is it promising though? is the only place you can fuel it in CA and haven't they closed some of the fueling stations recently? don't get me wrong, i'd love to see all competing technologies have a time to shine to truly compare, but only being able to purchase and use within CA kind of makes it difficult.
Costs $225+ to refill the hydrogen Toyota currently. Fuel can be hard to find. EV is pretty easy to live with. If you have a house, you can charge overnight.

It's $0.31 cents in the first tier. And goes to over $0.50 in the third tier which you do it if you are charging at home.
What part of California is that?

Fwiw, SCE charges $0.24 to $0.26 for off-peak (ie, all day except for 4-9 pm).

Hydrogen is so expensive now that it' costs $130 to fill for around 300 miles
Where are you getting a $130 refill on hydrogen? It's $225+ in California.

175 miles means nothing! Not even 4 hours drive! Succcc
good for daily commute if your commute is like 30-50 miles one way, and if you have charging at home. I live in an apt complex and have charging downstairs but I also don't have a commute, I'm thinking about having this as a "get out of the city" car

BabyBubba it may work for you.
For the Bubbas in California with astronomical electric rates, it doesn't work out.
Why would you charge your car when rates are high? SCE rates are time of use. Highest rates are 4pm-9pm. Charge overnight or during the day.

not sure what car shows you goto, but never seen people boo.
but are you showing up in a Tesla to show off the car? Might as well as show up in a 2-4th gen Prius or some modded charger/camaro. it's boring.
Yep. I do show off the Tesla. It's more rare than most of the cars there, fastest most of the time, and has a cool wrap.

Your comment is spot on with the judgment. . I find the Mustang, GTR's, Supras, M cars, and corvettes to be boring, yet I don't pass judgement or make people feel unwelcome.

I agree, I suspect most people will do the same. When I go out of town, I rent a vehicle, going on long road trips, I pick up a Sienna for 35 bucks a day and put a couple thousand miles on it.

Not because the inconvenience of charging every 300 miles, but because I don't want the expenses related to driving 2000 miles. When I get home, I spent around 250 bucks on the rental and saved several hundreds of dollars worth of wear, tear, and depreciation.
Where are you getting cars for $35 a day post-COVID? I assume a work code/agreement with a rental agency? Genuinely curious as that's effectively what I used to get for National but it's closer to $50 a day after day now.

So much false info in this thread.

ICE is dead. EV is the future. You can complain with your cowboy hats and infrastructure/range anxiety all you want, but in the next 20 years ICE won't be around anymore. Some countries already have made a full shift to EV.

You people don't get it. Whether you want to invest in it now or not, or just complain, we're there now. It's viable, and EV will increase and take over. Guaranteed. It'll take some more time for the full rollout, but it's inevitable.

That's my stance. I can't wait up to an hour to charge a car, and don't feel comfortable going up to 80% w/the mentality that I can finish it out "later"

Nah, I wanna be able to get that car charged up and ready to hit the highway again, as anyone w/kids knows how each minute is PRECIOUS and waiting around at a random ass establishment or a walmart parking lot just ain't what it do.
How many miles do you drive in a day on a road trip, maybe 500? You'd need to charge up to 80% a max of twice, and wherever you are going to sleep at, just make sure they have a charger and you'll be back to 100 when you wake up for your next leg. Just requires a bit of a rethink on what you need, you don't have to fill up, just get enough charge to get you through to the next time you want to stop.

I keep saying if you want EVs to be mainstream they need to get with the oil companies and convenience store owners.

Come up with a replaceable battery, then create battery swap; stations and have it be like cell service used to be you sign up with Chevron or 7-11 and you can take your car to any 7-11 swap the battery and pay for the difference between charge left in the old battery and charge level of the new one.

That way no need to charge at home they cane have fast chargers at the 7-11 that can cool the battery packs and charge them using solar or off peak times.

No need to worry about your battery pack no longer holding a charge and if you plan to travel a distance you can sign up for a "roaming plan" so you can get a battery swap done at a 7-11 or a QuikStop!

The people with a lot to lose from the demise of "Gas Stations" will have a new and better revenue stream.
It would take a while for gas stations to start holding and replacing batteries. A model Y has a 1700 lb battery; I can't imagine it would be easy and cheap to swap out. When you swap batteries, you will also get people not taking care of their batteries (ie driving it to 0 and refilling to 100). Plus the main benefit of EVs is being able to charge at home and never going to gas stations.

My household (like many others) is going toward an EV for daily commute and around town driving, and a hybrid ICE for weekend escapes and road trips.

I got a new LR MY for 47k 4 mo ago, but if I were to buy a car now, I would get a used SR model 3 with FSD. Even basic autopilot is great and far better than most other companies. Once you swap to AP, driving a car manually seems like an unnecessary pain. Tesla's superior drive assist technology, competitive pricing, and resale value make buying other EVs not worth it IMO.
