Yes. I use this type of pan to cook bbq, serve bbq and store bbq all the time. Can also be a drip pan under the grate. They are very versatile.

Yes, I use these in my smoker all the time. If you mean heavy direct flame, it might not hold up depending on the temp (its melting point is around 1200F, which should be safe in most pellet and gas grills but coal can get hot enough to potentially cause problems - if you keep it close to smoking temps or put the charcoal on one side and set the pan on the other it will be fine).
