So I finally opened mine from a previous deal. For the money it's a decent value but I'm really disappointed by the magnesium block. It has no flint striker on it. You absolutely need a second tool to generate the sparks for it.

Actually some people prefer not to carry lighter fluid on them for various reasons. This is also a leave it and forget it set up since you dont have to worry about Lighter Fluid leaking out or evaporating over time.

Not for zombies, but for anything that leaves you needing to get the Hell out of Dodge. Car wreck. Storm damage... Stuff happens.

You also don't need a spare tire either...until you do.

And bugout bag doesn't mean zombie kit. Could just be a generic name for gloves, extra RX's, maybe a protein bar and a few bottles of water, first aid kit, foil blanket, perhaps a basic tool kit, etc for an unexpected event. Crazy people items that FEMA recommends [fema.gov] every single adult has available.

You don't you recall last winter where dozens of people in the US died because they were trapped in their cars during a surprise snow storm? I bet a $1 space blanket from the Dollar Tree would have saved a vast majority of those people (and made thousands more conformable waiting for a tow truck). Israelis / Palestinians forced to abandon their lives without notice? Rewind a year or two before, the Ukrainians didn't think they'd need to abandon their cities without notice. What about hurricane (insert any name here)? Pacific tsunami that killed 1/4 MILLION people and displaced millions more? Or countless other events that hindered just a few people at a time. But you'll have all the warning in the world, right?

Funny, the same people who will drive 30 minutes out of their way daily for a $13 Pumpkin Latte won't spend that same amount of time or money...once...to put together a mild 'just in case' kit which can even be used to help them change a tire on the way to get said coffee.

"zOmBiEs" they say. 'Can't happen in 2024' they cry. shake head

Hey if you don't want to call it a "bugout bag" how about you call it your trail backpack, survival bag, emergency kit, in the trunk car pack ? People do get lost in the woods and need a fire to keep warm, signal their location to search parties, cook food, keep night animals away, keep mosquitos away. There are lots of reasons to want to start a fire legitimately OTHER THAN ZOMBIES or other literary tools to fire up imaginations. But I'm sure your goal is just simply to ridicule others that have done nothing to you because what they do is different than what you do. Not a very flattering thing to do if you think about it, is it ? What does that say about you and what others think when they see you do this ?
