Thats a very nice dimmer, I switched my living room from old can lights to the hue led downlights and my caseta switches to these dimmers.

I've been trying to figure out how these install on paddle switches for 10 minutes and I still have not clue...

EDIT: OK, I think I get it? It's really not "for paddle switches," it's the same aurora device, but with a bracket that allows you to remove the existing switch (whatever type that may be) permanently wire the lights to "on," then mount to a light switch?

Read the manual? But essentially it doesn't. You basically remove the paddle switch connect the wires together so it will be always on. Then put this plate to replace the paddle and then the button itself attaches on top.

I get the concept now. I wanted to understand the device before buying to make sure it fit my use case. My confusion comes from the way these are titled, "for paddle switches." The original mounts to an existing toggle switch, so my brain tried to understand how these mount to a paddle switch. It should say something like "switch replacement."

I don't understand that adapter. For $1, I just bought a toggle switch and replaced my paddle before installing this. Seems to make more sense than going through the process of installing a dummy.

Your not wrong, but some people have decorative wall plates they would like to keep

This is my general outlook. I think this is just catering to people who wouldn't think to "modify" a switch if it isn't a toggle switch which is what was compatible with their original model.

That's why they called it "for paddle switches" instead of "bracket replacement" or something like that. It's more a marketing thing than a genuine functionality solution.

Other than blocking the original switch from being turned off, are these really better than wall mounting a Hue remote? I got a couple Auroras (for toggle) on a great sale, but feel like it's much worse than the Hue remotes I use in most rooms.

I have both and personally love the auroras. They're sleek, and most of all friendly to visitors who seem know how to use them intuitively. Plus, they don't take up any more space on the wall if that's important to you.

Can anyone confirm if this particular kit is also compatible with toggle style light switches? Lutron sells a similar product for toggle switches but this looks like this includes the same components.
