I've got that same model, they're limited to brewing about 12-14oz even though it has a pretty big basket. These deals are definitely worth it alone just for the quality all clear tumbler.

So true. They think no one has ever thought of just putting ice into their coffee carafe as they brew or brewing and then pouring into an cup that has ice in it.

Isn't that most of these things.. advertised as ice coffee makers but they're just regular coffee makers that claim they can make the ice last longer with "technology"

OK. So what does a hot coffee maker normally go for? What is the normal MSRP and a good sale price?

You can usually get Mr. Coffee brand 4 or 5 cup basic machine for around $20.

Not quite. I can't speak to this coffee maker, but iced coffee makers do produce coffee that is at a lower temperature. I wouldn't call it "technology," but most of them use water that is not as hot as a regular coffee and requires you to use more coffee bean grounds (almost twice as much). This gives the not-so-hot water to still extract enough juice while also further lowering the overall temp since greater heat dissipation takes place through a larger amount of coffee bean grounds. So, it's not just a gimmick, though it's a simple mechanism vs technology. You can test it by taking temp of the coffee that comes out. Here's a quick example where a guy uses his finger to feel a temp (skip to 4:40). I've seen one where a woman actually used a thermostat, but I can't find it again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGF-lw4L5ww

From what I understand, it brews a very concentrated coffee that won't be diluted too much by the ice. In other words, the coffee that comes out is not meant to be consumed straight. If you don't use ice, you'll need to add a little water. Unless you have a very expensive electric coffee maker, you can't normally achieve the concentration this makes. The only other way to do so is manually, with an old fashion percolator, where you can control the amount of water and exposure time.
