Free Federal Tax on Sprintax for International Student on F1
As non-resident alien International Students in the US can only use Sprintax to file tax return, their cost for federal is $51.95 and $44.95 for state tax preparation. I found the following discount codes that can reduce at least your federal tax to 0.
After finishing filing, at the payment step, enter the following codes:
EMRY900F23 -$46.95
10SECL500F23 -$10
22SMC250F5 -$5
5MURR100F23 -$5
SpR20CSUEB101F5 -$5
With multiple trials, I successfully used the first 2 codes to reduce the federal tax prep to 0 but still have to pay for $44.95 of state tax prep. I also post the other $5 discount codes but there is not point to use them and Sprintax didn't let me use them since they already deducted all federal tax.
