About this product:
SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It is an unsettling story about identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human.
A sci-fi horror game set below the waves of the Atlantic ocean. Struggle to survive a hostile world that will make you question your very existence.
The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and we're going to have to make some tough decisions. What can be done? What makes sense? What is left to fight for?
Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.
You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there's no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.
I watch so much lore videos it's fascinating overall that I wouldn't want to play it and have gameplay be an issue cause it is clunky but better than the amnesia series of narrative story telling
Very profound way of dealing with mortality and sense of self
Do the gfx of this still hold up today considering its a 2015 release?
I just got this now and started playing (even though it was on gamepass and possibly a psplus giveaway) the graphics aren't horrible, but I would say this is something you get if you are interested in the story more than for gameplay or graphics.
Best Sci-Fi game I have ever played. I cannot recommend this title enough.
It deals with what I call "digital eternity", life and death with a copied consciousness. I have never seen such an immersive experience in a game before. I love reading sci-fi and don't usually like movies but this was amazing. There are things placed thought the game that are designed to make you feel what the character you are playing in feeling and the monsters really make you feel the depth of it to.
A must play for anyone that loves to experience sci-fi. Fantastic game.
Absolutely a must play, even if you aren't into horror. One of the best and most immersive sci-fi story ever. As other have said, once you play that game once, you'll surprise yourself still thinking about it years later

I was creeping around from the beginning worried that I was gonna get snatched. Yep, perfectly scary atmosphere.
