This isn't really a "sale price" but a PSA that this laptop is finally available for purchase. I have been waiting for a decent AMD Zenbook 14 to replace my 4700u UM425, so here it is. The 799 is reasonable though, I think, as some of the older models have frontpaged at 700.

The AMD CPU on the Zenbook is a lot better.

Anytime you see LPDDR LP means low power and soldered

Specs have nothing to do with build quality. It's something often overlooked on laptops and it shows in benchmarks and daily use. Better specs don't mean much when it immediately throttles from inadequate cooling or breaks a year down the line because it's made out of cheap plastic.

How does the battery life compare to the same model with an ultra core processor instead? This article really has me considering the Zenbook

Not without a lot of work, the support for AMD's Ryzen AI is very poor even after being a thing for over a year now. Intel's AI engine (in Core Ultra/Meteor Lake laptops) has vastly more support despite only launching like 6 months ago. However both are meant for low power solutions at this point, the heavy lifting is still being done by GPUs.
