The State Department still has an advisory warning, but that's the usual. It hasn't been updated since 2022 and things have gotten better, but violent crime is happening, to what extent, it doesn't say. I'd take a chance on going rather than using Booking.com or any of the other third-party websites recommended on here. You book through them, something happens, you're almost always on your own. But hey, those affiliate fees are more important than your wellbeing. Plus the airline's websites are the same price.

el salvador has become much safer in recent months. their new president play no games on crime. the travel advisory is not updated.

i just googled [nytimes.com] to back up what i'm saying.
