If you don't find glasses, use one of the indirect viewing methods. My favorite is to just grab a colander and a sheet of paper. Put the paper on the ground, and hold the colandar so it casts a shadow on the paper and the holes are visible. During the event, every hole will display a mini eclipse on the paper. If that requires too much engineering know-how, then look for shadows cast in plants. You may also be able to see the eclipse in the plant shadows.
