As someone who has a 6 year old who plays switch, absolutely the light. Kids are hard on these systems, and this one is almost half the cost of the OLED. I guarantee they won't know or appreciate the difference anyway

OLED is overkill for a 5 yr old. Only downside of Lite is no dock/TV connectivity.

I would say used original and replace the battery. It's cheaper to buy off brand joycons than it would be to fix anything if he's hard on it, and those are always the first to go

Pretty good deal for the system and AC pre-loaded. I would jump on this in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a lite and AC.

Lite or OLED for a 5 year old boy?

He loves playing games on iPad.

I have an oled. Can we play/transfer the game to the other console and play on both? or is it tied to the system? Thanks.

Lite all the way. Like buying a sports car for a 16 yr old. They won't appreciate it or know the difference.

For most games yes as long as you pay for the Nintendo Online service you can have cloud saves for most games not all are compatible but can switch between systems. An example Animal crossing you are unable to share a save between systems.

Can the Animal Crossing be sold? Or is it pre-installed or tied to an account?

Looking for a Switch Lite, but already own Animal Crossing.

That plus the Lite will be easier for a 5 year old to grip the controls

Tied to the console. Not a code.
