Isn't it better to spend $30 more and get the 6650xt?

The 6600 is more like the cripple GPU that didn't made the cut if you compare it to the 6600xt, and the 6650xt is the overclock of the 6600xt

So, yes I would do it. Because the 6650xt gain ~15% more performance. It's more like plug-and-play that has already been OC by AMD to its limit. Also, stable out of the box.

The 6600 is a good option if you are upgrading which doesn't have a huge power supply as it draws just over 100W (right around a GTX 1060 for comparison). Right bow I think value wise this is fair, but not great. The ARC A580 is a better value and more future proof with better RT hardware at $165, if you can ignore the power draw and have ReBAR. 4060 has a similar power draw, but with the 7600 isn't an attractive product right now with pricing.

The 6650 XT consumes 180W while the 6600 consumes 110W. It might be the chips are binned, but I don' think crippled is the word.

If you aren't stuck with a 350W PSU, then yeah, why not go for the 20% faster card for 15% more.

According to the AMD website

RX_6600 = 132 watts = Game Frequency 2044 MHz = Stream Processors 1792 = Texture Units 112 = Memory Bandwidth Up to 224 GB/s

RX_6600xt = 160 watts = Game Frequency 2359 MHz = Stream Processors 2048 = Texture Units 128 = Memory Bandwidth Up to 256 GB/s

RX_6650xt = 180 watts = Game Frequency up to 2635 MHz = Stream Processors 2048 = Texture Units 128 = Memory Bandwidth Up to 280 GB/s

Higher running game Frequency = more watts being consumed, but the main difference would be the Stream Processors.

So, in my view, it is a cripple GPU if you look at the specification from AMD. I also own the 6600xt during COVID (sold it for 3070ti, sold it for 6800xt, sold it again finally for 3080 12 GB), and I know its limit, and how far you can push it. Save your time and headache by just getting the 6650xt if your PSU allows it.

$180 should be the standard price by now. That has been the sale price for at least the past year.

This. I bought this card for $209 like a year ago not even on sale. I'm not sure why they're still selling at this price point. Easy decision to get the 6650xt for $230. However, this has been a great card for me personally. I only run a 1080p rig with an r5 2600x, but this thing plays any games I throw at it.
