The vacuum experts say to never buy a Shark because Shark is one of the few companies, maybe the only company, that actively goes out of its way to prevent you from repairing their vacuums at all. They don't sell replacement parts, period. They use near proprietary screws (torx security bit) of various sizes that the vast majority won't have the tools for. They even make internal tabs for the exterior shell that snap together so if you try and take apart the vacuum it will break the tabs and then they won't fit securely together anymore.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uEat894ywQ

Also Shark's warranty is useless and is more of a scam. They only guarantee parts that aren't subject to "wear and tear". So hoses, belts, cords, switches, pedals, the entire floor head, none of those are covered. You'll discover that basically the entire vacuum is under wear and tear and nothing that commonly needs repairing will be covered.

So if you're ok with buying an expensive, basically disposable vacuum every few years then buy a Shark. I would never buy anything from a company like that. As for Dyson, the experts say not to buy from them either. I forget the reasons. I think it was because their vacuums are very expensive and aren't that well built for the price. If you have the money to spend on a Dyson you should get a "buy it for life" vacuum instead like a Sebo, Numatic, or Miele (although people say Sebo is better than Miele in almost every way). They're made to let you repair them and have great performance and warranties.
They had the Tineco c2s for 30 dollars on clearance at my Walmart about 6 months ago. My only regret is I didn't get another one or 2 but a woman who worked there starting taking them all and I guess hid them in the back before I could. It's a shame because there were a lot of them about 12 or 15. It's worth it at this price posted if you need a cordless stick vacuum. Filters are cheap and easy to find to
which is nice.
I got one on clearance at $35 in store few months ago and loving it! I somehow like it better than my Dyson especially the pricing and functionality I think it's comparable.

Any personal experience with how this compares to other names like Dyson or Shark?

Well I have a Dyson v7 which is great but cost $200 and didn't come with the pole or floor head its just a hand vac version and I've got some shark navigators. Honestly I like them all. Its really about price when comparing it to the Dyson. Even if I like Dyson a little more, the tinecos price makes it a clear winner. All of them have easy to find inexpensive filters which is not always the case with vacuums. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them but if moneys no problem I'd probably get a Dyson. You could always get this one now if you need a vacuum and wait for Dyson to go on sale. That might even be cheaper than buying a Dyson now at retail price.

Just checked CR. They rate a BL of Tincos ranging from $600 on down. They rate from near the top to the bottom. Didn't see the C2. It probably sucks. None of them are any good at carpets. One has voice control and some kind of dirt sensor to determine how much to suck.
Yeah I think the C2 is a Wal-Mart exclusive and when I tried to register the warranty on tinecos website it wasn't even listed on there list of vacuums to register. I couldn't find any videos or other listings beyond the Wal-Mart one. But it has been a pretty good vacuum so far its pretty powerful and seems to hold a charge for awhile. Its floor brush head is bigger and more powerful than my tineco a10 dash with 40 watts of power vs 15 watts for the dash's head. I think its a good buy at this price.

How is this on hardwood floors, any insight on that? We have hardwood floors throughout, and it seems that all of them are great on carpet, not so much on hardwood.

As a $50 disposable, the Tineco is fine. I think of it like the modern version of my parent's rechargeable DustBuster. There are several stories on R about lack of customer support and lack of repair parts, worse than Shark even, but if you see it as a 3 yr investment, it's probably fine.

Works fine, battery lasts solid 25 mins, Just clean it out when it's full otherwise it clogs and shuts off

The seller is trying to hide how much pressure this vacuum can do in the description, so it must be really bad. Don't buy it, there are a lot of other good vacuums on sale at Walmart recently which do not hide their important metrics.

What's a comparable vacuum?
