I own 5 or 6 of these in various speeds. Hands down, a solid, solid reel. If I needed more, I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

You won't ever go back!

My father and I have used left hand retrieval for over 40 years and 30 with the Curado's.

Love em!

Which side hand does everyone use for this? I'm normally a right handed person and use a left spinning reel.

Weirdly, I use a right handed bait caster although I use a left-sided spinning reel. Don't know why that happened lol.
In any case, these Shimano Curado DCs are awesome.

https://japanlureshop.com/shimano...do-dc.html You can grab a curado dc 200 from Japan for less and they always throw in free lures with your purchase.

It's a $170 reel, not a pickup truck. These are things I don't worry about at all. If it breaks, I'll fix it. This reel isnt much of a savings but others can be hundreds of dollars and I will take the savings over a warranty any day of the week. Also, all you have to do is send it back to the shop and they will handle warranty claims for you, so there's that.

I am not a fisher but I would like to get his for my father. Last one my father asked me to purchase was Shimano BTR8000OC Baitrunner OC -- is this better than that?

Those two reels are in no way comparable. Two totally different kinds of fishing.

What's the major difference between a spinning wheel and bait caster? Have been using spinning but also wanna try bait cast. Inshore/offshore fishing, sea bass sheepshead and whatever I can find 10-20miles offshore.
